To strengthen the voice of rural electric generation and transmission (G&T) cooperatives, Paulsen partnered with the National Generation & Transmission coalition to develop the NG&T Communications Guide. This essential messaging platform provides a consistent framework to communicate the unique value of the G&T cooperative model.

Changing the Conversation

The project aimed to “change the conversation” around G&Ts by creating a shared resource for cooperatives nationwide. This guide offers a common starting point to communicate the G&T value proposition, promote the cooperative difference, and support local messaging with customizable, strategic language.

Collaborating to find a common language

Paulsen led a collaborative process with an interactive online FOCUS group of G&T general managers and leaders. Using anonymous input and real-time feedback, participants were able to engage in open, honest discussions about the sector’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. The insights gathered during this session became the foundation for the first phase of the NG&T Communications Guide.
