When South Dakota Soybean wanted to showcase the innovations funded by checkoff dollars, Paulsen created the Soybean Innovation Tour—a boots-on-the-ground tour connecting farmers to the impact of their investments and legislators to the exciting advancements in their districts.
Bringing the Day to Life
Paulsen handled every detail of the tours of the Raven Precision Ag Center, POET Bioproducts Center and Houdek facility, including:
Full logistics coordination—scheduling stops, arranging transportation, and managing on-site timing.
Creation of visually branded materials, including invitations, handouts, and event graphics that reinforced the checkoff's role.
Coordinating with hosts to ensure each stop demonstrated tangible results of farmer-funded innovation.
Participants toured facilities funded through checkoff dollars, including cutting-edge research centers and production sites, to see firsthand how their investments drive progress in agriculture.
Farmers Saw It. Legislators Learned It.
The event brought together 30 farmers and raised strong awareness among legislators, with nearly 30 lawmakers invited to learn about the soybean checkoff's value.
Participants praised the tour for providing unique insights into projects they rarely get to see. One participant described it as “the best tour I’ve ever been on.”
Seamless Execution; Tangible Impact
Paulsen’s deep understanding of agriculture and expertise in event planning ensured a professional, impactful experience. By connecting farmers, industry leaders, and key decision-makers, the tour highlighted the critical role of checkoff-funded innovation in advancing South Dakota’s soybean industry.
